Privacy Policy
Effective date: 13 September 2026
This policy describes what happens to information when you visit honestmidi.com. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who is responsible
honestmidi.com is an independently operated website. Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, go to hello@honestmidi.com.
What this site collects directly
honestmidi.com is a set of static pages. It has no login, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact form. There is nothing on the site that asks you to type in personal information.
That means the site itself does not build a profile of you. Two things do happen:
- Server and network logs. The site is delivered through a content delivery network. Like any web host, the delivery network processes technical request data — such as IP address, browser type and the page requested — in order to serve the page and to protect against abuse. This is standard for any website and is not used by us to identify individual readers.
- Email you send us. If you write to the address above, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. That is kept only as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of corrections.
Cookies set by this site
The pages on this site do not set cookies of their own, and the site does not currently run analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts of its own.
That can change, and the sections below describe what applies when it does.
Third-party advertising
This site may display advertising supplied by third-party advertising networks. When third-party advertising is present, those networks may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites — including your IP address, device and browser characteristics, and the pages you view — in order to select and measure the advertisements you see.
We do not control those cookies and we do not receive the personal information they collect. The data practices of each advertising network are governed by that network's own privacy policy, which you should read before deciding whether to accept its cookies.
Where required by law, advertising cookies will not be set before you give consent, and you will be able to decline them. You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from reading any page on this site.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to sign up for a service or make a purchase, the merchant may record that the visit came from this site, and we may receive a commission.
What this means for you:
- The price you pay is not affected.
- An affiliate relationship does not determine what gets recommended or how a product is described.
- Where a tool has real limitations, those limitations are written down in the article regardless of whether the tool has an affiliate programme.
Affiliate links are disclosed on the pages that contain them.
What is not done with your information
- Personal information is not sold.
- Email addresses are not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
- Reader data is not used to train anything.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. Because this site collects almost nothing directly, in most cases the practical answer will be that we hold no personal information about you beyond an email you chose to send.
Requests go to hello@honestmidi.com. Requests relating to advertising cookies should be directed to the advertising network that set them.
Children
This site is written for people working with audio software. It is not directed at children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes — for example, starting to run analytics or adding an advertising network — will be reflected here rather than announced elsewhere.
